TopAccountantsAustralia is an informational directory of Australian accounting businesses, backed by verified client reviews and merit-based awards. We are a directory and software platform only. We are not an accounting firm, registered tax agent, or financial adviser, and nothing on the Platform constitutes tax, legal, or financial advice. We may facilitate introductions — for example, by passing on an enquiry or a matching-quiz request — but we are not a party to any engagement between a client and an accountant, and we do not arrange, supervise, guarantee, or take responsibility for any services provided.

You must be at least 18 years old and able to enter into a binding contract to use the Platform. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for all activity under your account, and you agree to provide accurate, current information.

Searching the directory, submitting enquiries and using the matching quiz is free. When you submit an enquiry or a matching request, your details are passed to the relevant accountant(s) so they can contact you — we do not guarantee that an accountant will respond, will accept you as a client, or that their fees, availability or services will suit you. Listings, reviews, ratings and awards are not endorsements or recommendations. You are responsible for your own decisions: before engaging an accountant, verify their credentials yourself, including tax agent registration on the TPB public register and any professional memberships (such as CPA Australia or CA ANZ), and satisfy yourself that they are suitable for your situation. Any engagement with an accountant is solely between you and them.

Reviews must be honest, first-hand accounts of your own genuine experience. You must not post fake, incentivised, misleading, defamatory, offensive or unlawful reviews, or reviews about your own business or a competitor. We verify reviews by email before they are published, and we may moderate, decline or remove any review at our discretion. You are responsible for the content you submit, and you grant us a licence to publish it. Accountants may publicly respond to reviews on their profile.

Verification features (such as ABN checks, Tax Practitioners Board registration checks, or professional-membership indicators for bodies like CPA Australia and CA ANZ) are provided as a convenience and rely on third-party data sources. We do not guarantee that any verification, badge or credential is accurate, current or complete, and it is not a substitute for your own checks before engaging an accountant.

Award rankings are calculated by our algorithm using verified client reviews. Awards are based on merit — we do not sell or accept payment for award placements, and paying for a subscription does not affect award rankings. Award decisions are final, though you may raise a concern by contacting us.

You agree not to: scrape, harvest or bulk-export data from the Platform; attempt to circumvent our verification or moderation systems; use the Platform unlawfully or to harass, defame or harm others; impersonate any person or business; introduce malware; or interfere with the operation or security of the Platform.

The Platform, including its design, branding, text and software, is owned by us or our licensors and is protected by law. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive licence to use the Platform for its intended purpose. Content you or an accountant submit remains yours, but you grant us a licence to host and display it in connection with the Platform.

The Platform relies on, and may link to, third-party services (such as Stripe for payments). We are not responsible for the content, products or practices of third-party services, which are governed by their own terms.

The Platform is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the extent permitted by law, we do not warrant that the Platform will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that any listing, review, rating, credential or other information is accurate, current or complete. Reviews are the opinions of the people who post them and do not reflect our views. Nothing on the Platform is tax, legal, or financial advice, and no listing, review, rating, match or award is an endorsement or recommendation. We do not warrant the quality of work, conduct, registration status or availability of any accountant.

Nothing in these terms excludes, restricts or modifies any consumer guarantee, right or remedy you may have under the Australian Consumer Law or other laws that cannot lawfully be excluded. Where our liability for failing to comply with a consumer guarantee cannot be excluded but can be limited, our liability is limited (at our option) to re-supplying the relevant services or paying the cost of re-supply.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, and subject to the section above, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for any loss arising from your dealings with an accountant or client, including any loss connected with tax, accounting or financial outcomes. To the extent we are liable, our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim.

You agree to indemnify us against any claims, losses or costs arising from your breach of these terms, your misuse of the Platform, or the content you submit, to the extent permitted by law.

We may suspend or terminate your access to, or a listing on, the Platform if you breach these terms or where reasonably necessary to protect the Platform or its users.

We may update these terms from time to time. The current version will always be available on this page. Your continued use of the Platform after changes take effect constitutes acceptance.

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Victoria, Australia, and you submit to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of that State.
